Sam Thompson’s early years

Born on August 2, 1992, Sam Thompson is a reality TV star who joined Made In Chelsea during the sixth series.

Like most of the cast, he had a privileged upbringing and attended the £28,000-a-year Bradfield College in Berkshire.

He is the younger brother of former MIC star Louise and became a member of the cast in 2013 alongside her.

Sam started working as an intern for Jamie Laing at his Candy Kittens business, carrying out tasks such as picking up his dry cleaning.

However, after he had a makeover and a new white pearly smile, Sam stepped out of the shadows and confirmed his place as a key character.

One of his made MIC storylines was his high-profile relationship with Tiffany Watson.

Meeting Zara McDermott

Sam was previously in a relationship with former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott.

The pair starred together on Made In Chelsea and became an item in 2019.

However, things turned sour and the two went their separate ways in September 2020 after it emerged that Zara had been unfaithful.

The couple later managed to rekindle their romance in November 2020.

A source told the Daily Mail at the time: “They are certainly back together again. This finally happened about two weeks ago now.

“He took her back.”

In January 2025, The Sun revealed that the couple had split once more, after dating for five years.

A source close to the couple told MailOnline: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.

“But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.

“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects.”

Zara had previously revealed she and Sam were not together for Christmas.

On March 17, 2025, it was confirmed that Zara was now in a relationship with former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson.

It ended weeks of speculation about the pair dating.

Following their split, Sam took to Instagram to share a new video share in which he says this year will be “amazing”.

In the video, the star says: ”New year 2025 baby. Come on! Let’s have it. I can’t wait. The new year is going to be amazing.

“You’re going to have the best year ever, and you know I’m never wrong, I’m always right. You’re going to have the best year ever [kiss]. I love ya.”

Following her stint on Love Island and MIC, Zara has put her reality TV days behind her and now works as a TV presenter, documentary maker as well as an Instagram influencer and model.

Becoming a TV star

Since MIC, Sam has landed a string of reality TV show appearances.

He managed to come third in the 2017 series of Celebrity Big Brother and in 2018 he appeared in Celebs Go Dating alongside fellow Made in Chelsea star Ollie Locke.

In 2021 he then appeared on Channel 4‘s Celebrity Circle. He’s also made guest appearances on the likes of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Sunday Brunch and CelebAbility.
