Thread: Wargames:: General:: Help Me Pick A War Game To Play With My (adult) Son

I’m visiting my son over the weekend and he asked me to pick a couple of good war games to play with him. He knows a bit about the hobby but hasn’t played any war games since he reached adulthood.

We will be starting with Battle For Germany.

After that, he wants to play something a little more complex. I have three games I haven’t played before and I’d love advice on which would be best:

The African Campaign: Designer Signature Edition
Autumn For Barbarossa
Salerno '43

We are looking for something we can set up, play, and take down in one day. I have time to learn the rules before this weekend but hoping for something I can teach in an hour or two. It seems like all three of these games fit the bill but I don’t know how fun they are since I haven’t played them.

Thanks for any advice you have for us!
