Redmond Senior Center Plans September Wellness Series Focused On Home Safety, Fall Prevention

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Redmond Senior Center is excited to announce a special series of wellness events taking place throughout September in recognition of Home Safety & Fall Prevention Month.

These events are designed to provide seniors, caregivers, and community members with essential information and practical tips to enhance home safety and prevent falls, a leading cause of injury among older adults.

Event Schedule:

  1. - Home Safety with Redmond Fire & RescueDate: September 4, 2024
    Time: 1:00 PMJoin experts from Redmond Fire & Rescue for an informative session on home safety. Learn about fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and the best practices to protect your home from potential hazards.
  2. Fall Prevention with Terresa BrownDate: September 16, 2024
    Time: 1:00 PM
    Terresa Brown, a senior health and wellness specialist, will lead a session focused on fall prevention. This event will cover key strategies to reduce the risk of falls, including balance exercises, home modifications, and lifestyle adjustments.
  3. Fire and Water Damage Restoration and Home Maintenance Tips with ServProDate: September 25, 2024
    Time: 1:00 PM
    Representatives from ServPro will provide valuable insights into home maintenance, particularly in preventing and dealing with fire and water damage. Learn how to protect your home and respond effectively to emergencies.

Each session in the series is free to attend and will take place at the Redmond Senior Center, located at 325 NW Dogwood Avenue in Redmond. The Center encourages all seniors and their caregivers to take advantage of these informative events to enhance their knowledge and proactively safeguard their homes and health.
