If you create private/public keys in ssh and correctly configure ssh on your Pi you can login without a password. I never need to use password with ssh.I would be happy to live without a GUI, too, except that I haven't found a way of logging in via SSH that doesn't require me to enter my user name and password (the latter 'blind', of course) every time I want to log in. I use VNC primarily because, once I have set up the connection, I can connect with a couple of clicks.Personally I use various pi systems running home monitoring and control functionality and all are headless but also do not have any GUI as I use the Lite versions of Buster, Bullseye and Bookworm. Login via SSH with the UI elements done via web pages, but nevermind.
