Dimension 20’s Fantasy High Is Polymorphing Into A Webtoon Series

Dimension 20 fans are getting an unexpected new avenue from which to enjoy the actual play series. Today, the Webtoon comic platform announced that it is partnering with Dropout’s Dimension 20 actual play show to produce a comic series based on the Dungeons-&-Dragons-meets-John-Hughes setting of Fantasy High.

The first — and longest-running, at three full seasons and multiple spinoff seasons — setting that Dimension 20’s core cast ever adventured in, Fantasy High is a world of juxtapositions, where tieflings and goblins go to high school, elves can have bad comb overs, and you can use crystals to text the group chat. Webtoon did not announce the creative team behind its new series, simply titled Fantasy High, but did give a quick summary of its plot:

Fantasy High follows a group of misfit teens as they navigate the high-stakes drama of high school and the perils of a magical world. When students at their school mysteriously go missing, the ragtag group bands together to uncover a sinister plot, embarking on an unforgettable adventure filled with intrigue, humor, and heartfelt moments.

That, and the fact that Webtoon announced the series is set to run for a finite 61 episodes, seems to indicate that this will be a series adapting the first season of Fantasy High, in which the freshman adventurers Kristen Applebees, Gorgug Thistlespring, Fabian Seacaster, Riz Gukgak, Adaine Abernant, and Fig Faeth uncover a sinister conspiracy while investigating the disappearance of seven girls from their high school, the… unusual Aguefort Adventuring Academy.

In its news release, Webtoon said that the Fantasy High comic series is expected to premiere on the platform this spring. You can check out the full promotional image the company released with its announcement below:
