Following up on the Oscar-nominated hit The Wild Robot, Universal and DreamWorks are bringing another popular children's book (well, comic) to the screen. This time, the animation studio turned to the famed comics of Dav Pilkey. Instead of a sequel to Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, the next project in the franchise is based on a Captain Underpants spin-off, Dog Man.

Dog Man Streaming Release Date
Dog Man will eventually stream on Peacock instead of Netflix or Disney+ because Universal is distributing the film. Looking at other Universal releases, in 2024 both The Wild Robot and Despicable Me 4 were in theaters for a little over three months before landing on Peacock. Assuming Dog Man follows a similar timeline, the animated feature should be available to stream on Peacock sometime in late April or early May.

Dog Man adapts the Dog Man comics by Dav Pilkey, which are a spin-off of his other famous comic series, Captain Underpants. Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:
