[fl] Husband Is Currently In A Mental Health Crisis In A Facility. How Do I Protect Him From His Crazy Parents Who Want Him To Sign Out?

Card image cap

Long story short, my husband has been in a psychotic episode for about a month now. He was in intensive outpatient but they recommended I put him in a residential facility and has been there about a week. It is a voluntary admission facility. Meaning, he can sign himself out if he wants to.

My husband has ultra Catholic, unintelligent parents who have somehow convinced him that he’s fine and insisting on coming to get him from the facility. I am PETRIFIED they are going to send him to his home country in the southern hemisphere.

We have no durable or medical POA over one another (stupid, I know. Don’t make the same mistake we did)

I’ve already called the police to do a welfare check on him at the facility, texted his family and told him that I WILL have him involuntarily committed if I need to to for his own wellbeing.

Do I have another other options? marchman act is going to take a few days at least.

Please help!
