[louisiana] Ex-boss Will Not Replace Lost Final Check, Refusing All Communication

my last day was oct 30 2024

final paycheck was supposed to be nov 1, payday

i asked for check nov 5, said he didn't get my hours. told him.

paid nov 8, 9 days after I was terminated

picked up my check nov 10, lost check nov 10 the same day

he asked me to take pic of check nov 11, said i could not, my text was ignored. suggested he put stop payment on the check, ignored again

16 days later text not answered check not in mail

reached out about check on nov 27

still ignored as of december 28. As I understand it he is obligated to pay a day's wages in late penalties per day now per Louisiana Revised Statute 23:631 and I am entitled to my replacement check per RS 10:3-312, but I don't know where to go from here. Does Louisiana have a way to make a formal complaint like other states? Do I need to get a lawyer over a single $150 check? There's no way it could've been deposited by someone else when I lost it since my name was on it, right?
