[nj] Friend Got Ticketed For Going 88 In A 55, I Was A Passenger And They Absolutely Weren't Going That Fast.

Basically the title. I'm not sure if the officer misread their equipment or what, but 55 mph is 88 km/h and I can't see any other way they could have come up with that specific number other than operator error, any advice on how to bring that up when they contest the ticket?

The number felt fishy so I did a unit conversion between MPH and KM/H and 55 MPH is 88.5 KMH

So then I googled "88 in a 55" and apparently tons of people across the country have gotten tickets for that, and I'm also wondering if this is like a widespread issue of just, lack of training on how to read these things? I wonder how many people got tickets because an officer accidentally clicked their radar into KM/H and didn't realize what they did.
