So Mom let someone live in a spare room for 30 ~ 90 days. He apparently paid rent via cash or helping with odd jobs. Apparently after awhile things qot heated and he threatened her at which point she gave him "notice" to get his belongings out of the house no later than September 1st 2024. The notice was given verbally and via a written note taped to the inside of the front door of the house so as to be plainly visible when he left the house.

Fast forward to Feb 2025 he never got his stuff out and has recently kicked in the front door to gain access.

This is in TX.

Any advice on steps that should be taken legally?

I'm not sure if my mom has any legal rights here regarding the stuff he has essentially abandoned and randomly decides to show up to get.

Does he even have a right to enter the home whenever he desires? Is the stuff legally his anymore?

More details:

She has shared with me an image of a 7 day termination of tenancy notice she affixed to the inside of the front door. This instructs them to vacate the premises on or before Nov 22nd 2024.

She has an affidavit of service indicating that the notice was placed on the inside of the main entry door.
