(us, Kentucky) Driver's Parent Lied To Insurance

I'll be using the fake name of "Lee" for the driver and neutral pronouns.
I was a passenger in a collision last month. Lee was driving the car, which is legally in their parent's name, with Lee added as a driver on the insurance.
It was a cut and dry case of the other party (in the car that hit us) being at fault, with them admitting this to the cops, so Lee is good on that facet.
However, for whatever reason, when Lee's parent called the other party's insurance, the parent said they were in the car with us at the time of the collision, which is entirely untrue; the parent came to the scene and spoke with the other party and cop, since Lee's parent owns Lee's car and is the policy holder for the insurance. Obviously, the cop recorded my ID and the driver's and saw that the parent was not in the car, so I imagine this is all in the report the way it should be.
Lee asked why their parent lied about that, to which they replied "I don't really know" which is driving us both crazy.
What can we do?? We're worried now that the other party's insurance company isn't going to take anything we say seriously. Lee was going to handle all of this on their own and now their parent has made this complicated for essentially no reason in what could have been a very straightforward process. We don't want it to look like we're lying or trying to screw the other party over, especially where they graciously admitted fault and were kind about the entire incident.
