[wyoming] Employer Attempting To Force Me To Sleep On Site, While Only Paying Me For Waking Hours Worked.
I work 16 hour shifts 8am - 12am. I usually prefer to drive home (I live around the block) because sleeping conditions here are gross. Employer first insinuated, and then treaded into coercing me to sleep at work to provide backup in case something goes wrong. This is on call, which we are not payed for. At another facility under the same organization, when we are on call we get paid 2 hours, unless we are called in, in which case we are paid for the hours worked. We do not have to be on site, just within an hours drive. Besides the not getting the on call pay, which I don't really care about, I don't want to sleep at work, and have told my employer that if they are requiring it of me, then they need to pay me. On top of this, I worry they are going to try to pay us 2 hours on call, while requiring us to sleep on site. I'm curious about the legality of this and my rights.
