A Group Chat Of Victims From The Same Man.
Hey so this is a long one but I’m going to try to make it as short as I can.
Scrolling through social media this morning I came accross a girl who shared her story of SA as a teenager. We went to the same high school and when she shared this story, although she didn’t name names, I knew exactly who this was about. A 45 year old man with a high school aged son who regularly threw parties that provided alcohol, played games like strip beer pong and was known among underage girls as a creep. Often forcing us to take our clothes off and even asking to take pictures in our bras and underwear (as teenagers). However he threw parties and provided us alcohol, often even picking us up from our homes to bring us to his house to party so it was a deal too good to pass up at least in my stupid 16 year old brain.
I knew my best friend had experienced a similar incident of physical nonconsensual contact with him and before I knew it the three of us were in a group chat. Which turned to 4. Which turned to 5. 5 victims of underage sexual contact with a 45 year old man at the time.
We are now all in our late 20s but many still very scarred by this incident. The statute of limitations in our state is 20 years so we are still well within our time to take legal action but the thing is we don’t know how.
3 of us have old Facebook messages from high school. Many of these are very incriminating. Him offering to pick us up, sneak us out when we were grounded and provide us with alcohol. Calling us sexy and referencing us taking our clothes off during “strip pong”. And although we don’t have a ton of evidence of his physical attacks we do have these messages and all 5 of our testimonies. And we know for a fact there is more out there.
Reddit, please help us find justice. What would be a first step? Is justice even realistic if we never went to the hospital or filed police reports when this happened? It’s been so many years.
Honestly talking with these women has healed a part of me that I repressed years ago. It’s been cathartic and I just want justice for all of us and to expose this man for what he is.
