As A Texas Nail Tech, Am I Liable If I Give An Infection Or Worse...

Card image cap

Today I was doing a pedicure for a lady who mid way cutting her cuticle she told me she has diabetes... I stop as soon as she told me and resumed as I would with the service.

This service has been stressing me out all day because I should had asked her if she had a medical conditions before performing the service. We also dont cary any conslutaion forms or any signs stating to disclose if you do have a medical conditions.

As what I am told she is a regular and would understand why the other staff did not inform as I am one of their newest hires.

(1st time being in a salon setting or performing any nail work since I graduated. Nerve racking ????)

How liable am I if she comes in and says I give her an infection or even worse? I feel so scared because I am realizing that when I signed up for this work, the discussion of insurance never came up or liability if something happens. I don't rent a booth but I do give 50% to the owner of the building. I would understand if the discussion about insurance wasn't brought up because it only benefits her in a legal action case. So I am here sitting with anxiety honestly thinking of just going into a new profession. ????

Thank you to anyone who comments because this has been one sleepless night.
