Attorney Fee

Long story short: hired an attorney, hated her. Fired her. I paid her 1800$ for only 1600 from a retainer( fair) for work she already did.

She claimed I never paid her despite it being on credit card transactions and a invoice from HER office as paid!

Anyways she took me to court and won( shocker)

I now have to pay her an extra 3500$ ( she makes out considering all she ever did for me was file a piece of paperwork)

I’m ready to write the check to get her off my back but my question is how do I write a check for settlement to ensure she claims I didn’t pay her , again…..

I’m going to do a certified check written to her name in full and write “ civil settlement”

Is this enough to protect me? I no longer trust her and the court is not willing to set up a third party payor
