Being Sued For A Slip And Fall From 2021

Card image cap

My landscaping company was listed in a lawsuit against a property management company. When I reached out to the property management company, they asked for an invoice and said they would handle it. I’m now being listed separately from the management company. The slip and fall is one week after I had helped the property management clear snow. There is no contract, no payment, I don’t have insurance or a license. The only thing they have is an invoice for snow plowing one week prior to the fall(Date of snow plow 2/7/21 date of slip and fall is 2/14/21). In addition I also have text messages with my contact at the company asking me to falsify the service invoice to a different date.

My question is, do I need a lawyer? It seems a bit unfair I would have to shell out money for a lawyer when I can discredit the company with hard evidence. Would it be worth a shot to reach out to lawyers on either side of the argument with this evidence? Plaintiffs lawyers for turning over the evidence in exchange for them dropping the charges against me? Defendants for representing me in exchange for NOT submitting evidence. Or am I wrapped up in this and need representation? Cases are in NY. Property management case is in NYC and the case against my company is Long Island.
