Bitter Ex

Hey everyone, so backstory. I am 21 and my ex bf was 50 .. I broke up with him for a multitude of reasons, while packing my stuff I left my ID and a subscription box with 1,000+ dollars worth of clothes there. After a few days and 3 calls to the police he finally shipped the clothes back and sent my ID in the mail. Now he said he going to report me for theft of $500 , a fur coat, and a steamer. The $500 was a given to me bc he planned a vacation and asked me if i needed anything (all this was in person) i said no, i don't need anything. While sitting in front of him he apple pays me $500 with the text "stop saying no".. he is now claiming the $500 was a loan. He also gifted me a fur coat and is trying to say I stole it. Lastly the steam cleaner, I told him he could pick up at my local police department. He had packed it into my luggage when we were on the trip and I just forgot to bring it back. I currently havent had any contact with the police but hes saying "have fun in jail" ect. There is no written / signed/ or text messages that stated these were a loan. Should I start looking for laywers now ?
