Body Shop Damaged My Car
I took my car to a body shop for repair. It took much longer than expected and I later found they had asked my insurance company for nearly double the original quote and replaced parts that were originally not included.
When I got the car back there were service warnings on in my car computer. At first the body shop claimed they had tried to clear them and they failed to reset. I brought the car back to them three different times and they have been unable to fix the problem.
In speaking to different people it became apparent they were not communicating about the problem well. They also told me several contradictory stories about what was going on leading the to believe they either do not know how to fix this problem or they are not being honest.
When I went to pick the car up after bringing it in for the 3rd time the manager I spoke to told me they had tried to fix something totally unrelated and after inspecting the car when we got home we realized they had ripped open the seams of the rear ceiling fabric and it no longer attached properly at the seams.
Further inspection found that the “new” bumper they installed had 10 pick marks where it clearly had been smashed with a hammer or something during installation or was possibly used and misrepresented as new on the invoice. I was also charged for post repair scans that were not done at the time of the original repair and that the shop was unable to complete later, even after being given 3 more chance to do so.
Trying to figure out where to go from here. The manager I have been dealing with is refusing to take responsibility.
Thank you.
