California. Is It Legal To Place A Camera On The Edge Of Your Property To Watch/record The Neighbor? Not Incidental Resulting From Security Of Your Own Property.
Neighbor has a camera on the edge of his property, at the street, high up in a bare tree (attached to to the trunk) facing my driveway/front yard/porch. His property sits to the back of his camera, and his property is on a hill. My property is across the street, flatland.
His camera is clearly not for security of his own property because the way it's positioned, it would only show the street and my front yard/door/driveway/porch and is not covering his property at all since his property sits behind the camera.
He has been weird and inappropriate before and I made a report to LE in the past when his relative threatened me.
I am not feeling safe/comfortable hanging out on the Adirondack chairs I put out to enjoy my own front garden. Single woman living alone which would be GREAT if I could enjoy my own front porch without feeling watched.
I have hedges but the camera is above my hedges - it's in a tree and on a hill. My house is across the street, flatland. I don't want to surround my porch with tall hedges as that defeats the purpose of watching birds/squirrels in my garden from my porch and wouldn't help when I am gardening.
Any recourse? Thank you.
