Can I Claim Emotional Distress Damages If There Was No Physical Harm? (florida)

This is regarding my vehicle stalling on a major roadway due to a Progressive snapshot device. I was driving my car like any other day and everything was normal, then all of a sudden the car stalled. A few cars almost hit me as I called police and waited to be escorted off the roadway. They had to use their vehicles to push mine. I had the car towed to a mechanic who charged me over $300 for a diagnostics fee and spent 1.5 hours looking at the car. Initially they thought something was wrong with the transmission. They concluded the snapshot device I had plugged in the night prior was the direct problem because it was generating over 30 error codes on their diagnostic tool. They tested it by removing the device and the car drove perfectly well. This event has definitely caused me emotional distress. I believe in Florida where this occurred, you can only claim emotional distress damages if there's also been physical damage. This has been confirmed by a consultation I just had with a Florida personal injury law group. The demand letter I sent currently only includes reimbursement for the mechanic, I'm looking for second opinions on the consultation, if any of you are knowledgeable on this subject let me know!

I've set the flair as personal injury instead of insurance because I believe this technically falls under that category. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
