Can I Give My Dad’s Car Back To The Dealer?

My dad bought me a car 100% completely in his name. He passed away in January. I could not take over the loan for the car as my credit couldn’t handle it, my partner co-signed for another car for me and we pick it up today.

Since my father was not married and we are not keeping the car, can we give the lien holder a copy of his death certificate and give them the car back without paying anything?

He had no Will, no estate, and no money left.
