Can I Pay Someone's Traffic Ticket If They Don't Want Me To

Long story short, my dad has gone off the deep end into sovereign citizen bullshit and is trying to drag out paying his speeding and expired license ticket in the court system by claiming it is his right granted by God to drive on public roads. He's gone to court multiple times already over these 2 tickets and next up is the court of appeals.

I want to know if I can pay his outstanding ticket and if that will put an end to it. And if I do pay it, will I in any way be dragged into this mess further. Can he demand it be refunded? Basically how can this play out.
