Can My Employer Retract My Bonus After I Give My Notice

Hey everyone, first time posting here. I am planning to leave my current employer in a little under two weeks. My current employer provides significant bonuses that are largely discretionary each year to reward us for the previous year’s performance. Due to factors outside of my control, these bonuses are not going to be announced until tomorrow (Wednesday). I expect that once bonuses are announced, I will receive a paystub shortly thereafter and then it should be deposited in the coming days.
My question is can my employer legally retract that bonus once it has been offered? I would like to give my notice as soon as possible, but do not want to risk losing my bonus as a result. Also, should I wait to give notice until after receiving the pay stub or wait until it is deposited. Any advice that can be offered is greatly appreciated.
Edit: As information, my current job is located in Nebraska
