Capital One Dismissed Lawsuit Without Prejudice. Now What?
I was sued by Capital One in November 2024 for $11,000. I filed an answer and stated hardship. My only income is social security and a small pension. Capital One requested a continuance to investigate my hardship claim.
The new court date was today. I showed up at 9:00 for court and was told the case was dismissed. The document I was given showed Capital One voluntarily dismissed the case without prejudice.
What should I expect next? Will they sue me again or sell the debt to a collection agency? I was hoping to get to get something settled one way or the other today. Now, I’m in limbo not knowing what will happen.
Has anybody else dealt with this and how did it end?
