Car Accident On 1/11/25
Looking for a bit of advice on the situation.
My husband and I were in an accident last Saturday, it was snowing really bad.
We were approaching a light, he saw it turn yellow (going about 15mph-20mph) and started pumping the breaks. We were not stopping, while the light was still yellow my husband laid on the horn, no one else moved from the stop light but one lifted truck. He tboned us as we slid through the light.
We have liability insurance, he also had insurance. We have been told technically my husband is at fault, since he slid through the stop light. Our car is totaled, the other truck had bumper damage.
We were also told the other guy is claiming injury and has a lawyer.
When I contacted a lawyer, they said they could not help my husband, but could help me sue my insurance company? I was on the side of impact, as was our friend in the back seat. Hit my head really hard, got a CT scan after and nothing apparent on it.
Is this something I should do? Does my husband need to find a lawyer, or will the insurance company handle this?
A police report was made at the accident scene. We drove ourselves to the ER.
Any advice how we should approach this? Advice on how we should NOT?
