Car Collision But The Other Driver Refused To Give Insurance Detail

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I just wanna know whats ahead of me. A guy ran through red light, cut the corner, then collided into my car.

He was being respectful and acknowledged his mistakes, but did not want to give his insurance info (because it will get expensive). Instead he said he would pay for any damages caused by this accident.

He gave me his number but he wont pick up any of my calls. I took a picture of his plate, damage on his car and mine. I regret not taking a photo of him because I am now paranoid. I only have liability insurance, so I am fked if he flees to a different state (his phone has NY area code).

Thankfully, I have a dashcam so I can prove that I am at no fault.

What should I expect now? I have to wait until morning for an officer.

TLDR Evidence I have: dashcam footage, his plate number, damages on both of our cars.

I am afraid I might have to pay for everything for my car.
