Car Collision, Other Party Has Retained A Lawyer, Should I?

Card image cap

First, apologies if I got the flair wrong - I wasn’t sure if this should be traffic or injury…

Anyway.

US, Washington State.

I was involved in an automobile collision. When returning a phone call to my insurance company, the agent informed me that the other party has retained a lawyer to handle claims of soft tissue damage. My insurance company is accepting liability, and I have $50k coverage for medical in these cases.

At the scene, both of us were fine and able to drive away after exchanging information.

This isn’t my first rodeo with an auto incident but it is the first time a lawyer has been involved.

I’m not looking to argue liability, and I absolutely want the other party to get what they legitimately need to be made whole. I have not been contacted by the other party or their lawyer. I missed a call from their insurance company rep and they missed my return call…

That said… should I be looking into a lawyer? Or am I likely fine just letting my insurance company and their lawyers hash this out?

My thanks in advance. ????
