Car Got Impounded A Month After Purchasing From Dealer
2 months ago I was on my way to test drive a Corolla and I got rear ended exiting the highway. It totaled my car, and so I went on to by the Corolla (I didn't have anything else to drive). A month into driving it (when I was on my honeymoon) 6 detectives show up at my parent's house with a search warrant looking for the car. It was at the airport, not the house, but they still ended up finding it and impounding it. Apparently it was involved in a homicide before it was sold to the dealer. Body transported in the trunk. I got a good deal on it(and now I know why) but I'm feeling kinda unlucky in this scenario...
Could I take any legal action to get some money back? The car had been impounded for a month now I have received no compensation. The detective asked me not to contact the dealer till the investigation is through. I technically bought the car “as is” in the forms I signed.
I will be selling it when I get it back
TL;DR: first car l've bought got impounded for being involved in a homicide before it was sold to me. l've received no compensation.
