Cdl-b After Seizure

Card image cap

So I'm trying to get everything straight, I figure I'll ask here. 6 months ago I had a seizure while driving a non-cdl vehicle. At the time, I would drink heavily at night, not driving under the influence but my lifestyle certainly lead to me not getting enough sleep. My physician ruled the cause to be a mix of sleep apnea, alcohol withdrawal and a new medication I was put on for anxiety(I now know was caused by alcohol use).

I am currently 6 months sober, 50 lbs lighter and healthier than I have been in a long while. My license was just reinstated after the 6 month wait. I was told by a representative of the Federal Motor Carrier Saftety Administration that there was nothing in my chart about losing my cdl, and that I should be good to drive. Other places talk about different lengths of time I have to go before I can drive.

I am not taking medication for seizures as it was a one time event, not a disorder.

I have danced around the question in this post, but who gives the final say if I am good to drive a cdl vehicle again? The medical examiner who gives me my med card? My physician?

Edit: I am in Maine.

Edit 2: yes, my lifestyle was not healthy and pretty stupid. I make no excuses but I'm being better now. That's all I can do.
