Company Refusing $3900 Payment For Promotional Video, Claiming “views Were Falsified”. What Do I Do?

I’ll get straight to the point. I am an artist on instagram with around 1.5 million followers. I make my living by though promotional videos, of which I do several every month, and have never had any issues.

This month, I did a promotional video with a company that offered a sliding scale for payment, based on views the video received. The video did super well and reached 1 million views in the allocated time period, entitling me to $3900 in payment.

However, today, when we went to settle the payment, the company said that there was an “anomaly in the viewcount that is classified as cheating” in their exact words:

“according to the general rule of social media platforms, the number of plays will decrease every day, the number of plays of your video was decreasing every day from the 12th to the 18th, and the number of new plays on the 18th was about 3,000, but from the 19th the number of new plays per day suddenly started to increase, and there were more than 10,000 new plays on both the 19th and 20th.”

I explained to them that many factors - both people adding the video to their story, and also just random behavior from the instagram algorithm, can lead to a video picking up in views randomly many times. I have proof of this in the form of many videos of mine that behaved in the same way. However I explained this to them, they said sorry and there’s nothing they can do, and did not reply to my follow up email.

I’m obviously infuriated. I did nothing to cheat, nothing about the video was abnormal, and now I’m in a really, really bad position. The business is fully registered and I have all the information I would need to process them - but I don’t even know how I would prove that I didn’t bot views or anything of the kind. I’m really hoping someone here will be able to help me figure out how to proceed here, as this has been the worst start to a Christmas I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you guys for any help you have to offer ????

I’m based in Brazil and I believe the company is based in Singapore.
