Condo Excess Fees Question. Legal Or Not?
Know someone who lives in a condo and on top of the maintenance fees every month there is always a letter on the board talking about everything wrong with condo that needs to be paid for. Recently the made everyone pay like 10000 for roof repairs. Now they need extra money for pool repairs. Next it’s woodpecker holes in the building which at one point was listed as being over 3000 per unit now the most recent letter is asking for 500 bucks. Mind you this is all on top of the maintenance fee charge every month. Are these people getting screwed? Should they be hiring a third party inspector to make sure these prices are correct? It’s like, what’s the point of a maintenance fee if they have to pay all this extra crap. Do these condo managers think everyone has thousands in the bank ready to hand over every time some ants are found or birds take a dump on the roof?
