Consigned Art / Cancelled Contract

I consigned some artwork with a local high end gallery 10 years ago. 6 years ago I cancelled the contract (I have that in writing from them). Over the last 5 years I have consistently reached out for the return of the art and eventually get short responses. One email said "we've already sold some of the art" (after the contract was cancelled) & "we'll pay you soon" but they never do. At one point I agreed to sell them the remaining art at the original agreed on value in the hope of getting this resolved. I've never received any payment from them.

At this point I think the statute of limitations has passed (Massachusetts) for small claims court. the value of the art 10 years ago was between $5-7000 but it's possible that by now it's possible the value is closer to $10,000. Do I have any recourse here?
