Constant Second Hand Smoke In Apartment
Hi all,
I live in an apartment building with about ten units. We specifically sought out this complex because it's smoke free. My partner has asthma and we cannot live in a building where people smoke.
Unfortunately, some heavy smokers (smells like weed and cigarettes) just moved in and are ignoring the no-smoking policy. Every day, from about 10am to noon, and again from 8pm to 10pm, they have heavy smoke sessions. The entire building smells like weed and cigarettes. The smell gets in from every nook and cranny: vents, doors, you name it.
We started by putting up a note asking them to smoke outside. They ignored it.
We went to the complex and while they claim to take the issue seriously, they've stated there's nothing they can do until the actual unit is identified. The smell is so bad universally throughout the building that I cannot pinpoint where it's coming from.
If the complex drags their feet on addressing it, does anyone have advice on where I can turn next?
Thanks in advance!
