Daughter sexually assaulted by daycare teacher

So last week my daughter(7) wrote a “note” describing her daycare teacher making her touch his penis under his shorts skin to skin, and when she pulled her hand away put it back on his wiener.( her words and written). She would have been 5.5 years old at the time. We called the cops, she gave testimony under Camera, and investigator is working on bringing charges now. My question is what should we be looking for civally? Our main hope is this creep rots in prison, but know we should go after daycare and this guy in civil court as well. The cop said they’re looking at 3rd degree sexual assault of a minor for charges. Meet with a lawyer next week what should we ask, what should we expect?
