Demotion, Pay And Hours Cut

Hey. So I work for a small family owned private practice of Physical therapy clinic as an office manager. Earlier this week, a group came and toured all of the clinics, my boss is a really shady guy, he bills more units than allowed, contacts patients in person and on his personal phone, breaking HIPPA, consistently complains about the negative financial state of the company to the employees and verbalizes that he writes personal checks for payroll.

After the tour of people came through, me and the physical therapist I work with, had concerns about job security. On that same day, on my public work computer, while going to access an insurance document, I saw a PowerPoint that contained the name of the people touring. This was not password protected, or secure, nor does my contract (or lack of a contract) have any rules about opening files. I opened said PowerPoint and it was clear it was a business proposition to sell the company, the information contained was salaries, insurance payer percentages, and intent to sell. I shared this information with the PT that I work closely with. The owner must have been triggered with an alert that this was opened, or saw the history of the document being accessed. A couple days later they sent me home two hours early, then following that, a couple days later, asked to meet to review clinic coverage.

The meeting was with the two owners, they blamed cancellation rates on me, blamed a slower schedule on me, told me I tried to sabotage their business, sarcastically told me to buy it myself, then proceeded to demote me, cut my hours significantly, lower my pay by 17%, sent me home for the day, which cost me hours, again, and told me to think about it. They then went to approach my partner who works at another location, they twisted the words, and said that they offered me a different opportunity, due to my anxiety. I have not responded to anything, and I am unsure of how to proceed and if this is worth negotiating, pursuing, or if I should just quit and move on
