Dentist Didn’t Plug Or Stitch Up Wounds After Wisdom Teeth Removal

Hi all, I want to know if I have any sort of case here [AZ]

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Friday 12/19. Took about 2 1/2 hours and was sent on my way. I was bleeding quite and followed the instructions with the gauze to a T. Within a few hours I had ran out of gauze that they provided me and had to go to the store to buy more. The bleeding continued to get worse despite still having gauze in my mouth all the time.

By that night I knew something was wrong. Blood was basically spilling out of my mouth at this point and I had begun to feel ill, including vomiting. I’m not sure if it was from blood loss or from the sheer amount of blood I was swallowing. I end up going to urgent care, where they took one look at my mouth, and said that absolutely wasn’t normal but there was nothing they could do and referred me to the ER. At the ER they basically said the same thing and told me to contact my dentist ASAP.

Unfortunately my dentist office is not open on weekends, and as it turns out, the number my dentist gave me to text if “anything bad happened” was not a real number (had an incorrect amount of digits). Thankfully there was an emergency dentist near me that was open the following morning so I was able to see them.

By the next morning I felt like death. I couldn’t sleep at all and I had puked several times. When I got there my BP was 210/110. The dentist took a look at my teeth and informed me that the previous dentist had not put plugs in or stitched up my wounds after he took them out, hence the bleeding. He plugged them and stitched up the bottom two, which were the ones that were bleeding severely. The bleeding instantly went down 95% and completely stopped within a few hours.

I’m looking to see if I have a case mostly because of the extra money I had to spend. I had to pay for the teeth removal, but then I had to pay a copay at the urgent care, and then had to pay the second dentist to fix things. I am also guessing I will be receiving a bill from the hospital in the future too. Money is quite tight for me so these unexpected bills have pained me financially. Any help would be quite appreciated. Thank you!
