Engine Issues 30 Miles After Oil Change

Card image cap

I had an oil change done at Walmart Tuesday night- they did a top treatment as well (to clean the engine or something 1st)... Truck was running fine when I brought it in... I drove home 30 miles right after and almost home the truck started making a loud metal noise- 1st thought was maybe I was dragging something? Put the car in park less than a mile from my house and looked under it- even in park it continued to make the noise. Pulled into the driveway and parked it. We checked the oil 3x - dipstick reading double the amount of oil.
I attempted to call Walmart- no answer. I got ahold of the auto center manager the following day who said bring it back in. I explained it wasn't drivable and I would have to tow it- towed it there. The manager called said the tow truck dropped the truck in the bay and that if anything it was 1/2 quart low in oil- offered to repeat the oil change. Called back said he repeated the change and that they started it and could hear a noise they have never heard before and I should get it looked at. I had the truck towed to my mechanic who said there is definitely something going on with the motor- that either it was overfilled, started without oil or had a faulty filter placed but it was hard for them to see what it was exactly because Walmart had likely fixed whatever mistake caused the issue. I called Walmart back- auto manager is very defensive- he wouldn't know if a filter was faulty- they thew out the filter and oil (despite being asked to save it). Called the 1800walmart and made a complaint- awaiting response now which she reports can take up to 3 business days. Called and spoke with the store manager (who I believe gets the complaint and decides what to do with it) explained what happened, that I had pics of the dipstick- immediately she responded with did you take a video of you dipping it how do I know you cleaned it off and re-dipped it 3x ... I didn't take a video. She agreed to review the tapes of the oil change.

I don't even know what to do now but I know I am missing work due to not having a vehicle and that this seems like too many coincidences to not have been a Walmart issue.
