Equine Doctor Doing Medical “tours” For Human Patients Because “god Told Her To”- Is This Legal?
So I’ve just found out about something that doesn’t seem right to me.
A family member in the US has told me they have started seeing a “horse doctor”. Apparently there is a woman who does 8-week “tours” to cities within several hours of her. She gets a hotel room in each city where people can text her for an appointment at said hotel, which costs $220 per appointment.
In these appointments, she provides physical and mental health advice, much of which sounds incredibly inaccurate.
For example, she told this family member of mine that she has life-long trauma caused by grief because she was supposed to be a twin, but her twin died in the womb. She was apparently able to “feel” this by poking around at certain organs. Please note this notion of supposed to have been a twin has never EVER been expressed to my family member in anyway before.
My family member had also brought another person to the appointment with her, but this woman made them wait in the hallway so their “energy didn’t disturb family members aura” and cause any “misunderstandings” in the appointment.
My question is, is this legal? Can an equine medical professional provide services to humans? Regardless of how absolutely nonsensical her advice is- I’m wondering if there is any way of putting a stop to this, or at least making this woman go through the appropriate professional channels to offer services to humans?
She has said some other things that have caused a lot of emotional harm to my family member, that had incredibly negative affects. When they then visited a licensed therapist after the appointment, the therapist expressed concern and advised the methods this woman used were actually very harmful.
This woman’s justification for working with people is “if you can work on horses, you can work on people.” She decided to start these tours because she “prayed about it” and “God told her it was the right thing to do.”
From a legal standpoint, is there any way to prevent this woman from causing any further harm or harm to others?
