Ex Holding Everything Hostage

I’m living in California and broke up with my girlfriend in November after living together for 5 years. In retaliation, she immediately changed the locks and the gate code. When I tried to retrieve my belongings in December, she blocked me from entering the property. She later told a mutual friend that she would pack up my things and return them in January, but unsurprisingly, she never followed through. Now she’s not responding to any of us.

I have at least $150K worth of my own belongings at the house we shared, including my dog. To make things worse, the vet called and said someone contacted them claiming my dog is hers now. I’m starting to think she’s lost her mind a little.

At this point, I just want my stuff back, especially my dog. Should I request a police escort? Does that take months to process? I can’t afford to wait that long to get my dog back. What should I do? I stopped paying rent there December 31st
