Ex Is Out Of Town, Daughter At Home With 2 Grown Men

Sorry, this is going to be pretty long but I want to make sure I get everything in here. My ex-wife and I have been divorced for 9 years, and we have a daughter together, she is a freshman in high school. Ex and daughter live in Georgia USA and I live in Maryland, but she has been working out of town in the Midwest for the last several months.
I found out three days ago that my ex and her partner broke up at the beginning of February. My daughter has been living at home with her brother (early 30s) and a family friend (late 20s) since then. She has had to Uber to school twice in the last week, and has apparently been absent from first period at school 9 times, I'm not sure if the 9 absences are from the beginning of the year or semester. I asked my ex for custody since she was out of town, telling her I was concerned about my daughter's living conditions.
Yesterday, my ex told me we need to have another conversation. Meanwhile, within about 30 minutes, my daughter called me slightly before lunch and asked if I could give her money for an Uber. She was running a fever and had to go home. Her brother was at work, friend doesn't have a license, and her mother is halfway across the country. I sent her money, told her to let me know when she got home. She texted me about 45 minutes or so later, and said she was getting a ride from the social worker; she, the social worker, and vice principal were walking to the car. I called her and she said there is a LOT to talk about. She sent back the money I sent for the Uber.
Fast forward about 30 minutes, and I had not heard from my daughter. I called several times, left several text messages, with no answer. I called her brother and my ex, and got nothing. Texted my ex again, recapping the situation including being driven home by a social worker, and said if I don't hear anything I'd get a welfare check on my daughter and my ex said "she's fine".
I asked again what happened. My ex deflected and brought up my daughter and I talking while my daughter had her phone taken from her for a week (we didn't), and she was punishing both of us so her phone was taken for 3 weeks.
There is a LOT going on here that is concerning, I need to get my daughter immediately. I feel like my ex is deflecting to buy time to get herself out of hot water; a social worker doesn't just give a high schooler a ride home. I'm calling the school this morning to see what the hell is going on and am planning on flying to GA as soon as i can, either tomorrow or Monday. Legally, what is the best and fastest course of action to make this happen? Thank you to anyone who read through to this point, your answers and comments are all appreciated.
