Family Member Accusing Me Of "felonious Work Sabotage"
A family member of mine had a podcast that I produced, co-starred in, did video post production of and much more. I created various social media accounts and gave him the login-ins. This was all under the table and he paid me for my efforts during COVID. There was no contract, no 1099, no W2. This was a family thing and I view all of this as family drama.I quit working for him after he took scripts that I wrote for him and got them published under his name. I never legally did anything about this, I simply quit and avoid him.
Fast forward a year and a half later, he is making a ruckus about not being able to get into some of these accounts. I don't want to be associated with him whatsoever. I don't want him using my likeness or anything I created during our time together. I haven't actively enforced this because he is family, but I haven't actively helped him get into these accounts, some of which are deactivated. Also, I don't think there is anything legally forcing me too. The only complex issue the Youtube, is linked to a personal Google account of mine. I had to do this after he got himself kicked off Youtube.
Today he sent me an email saying he contacted a criminal prosecutor friend of his about this situation and wants it criminally prosecuted. Some of this issue is his inability to understand technology. He has full access to the PayPal account. It's connected to his phone number for 2FA.
Here is some of the email.
"Shockingly, he gets no benefit from purposefully damaging me. It does me no good to sue him civilly as he doesn’t have any money, and I can’t see where having his wages garnished over 20 years does me any good. All I’ve asked him to do is to restore the sites he has tampered with. It is as simple as turning the Twitter site back on and giving me access to one of the YouTube accounts, the UR account, telling me where the money is and anything else he has done to sabotage sites.
He’s caused me to lose a bunch of money. I can’t spend any more time on this, which is why it has to be a criminal matter. I explained to him he’s committed multiple felonies, he doesn’t seem to care, so as I mentioned, I have no choice but to hand it over to y’all. Thanks for getting the officer to call me."
He never made any money off his podcast. This is all hypothetical, get rich quick nonsense. The podcast was never a fornal business.
