Fingers Severed

Hello. We own a popular household product made by a very common manufacturer. This device is only supposed to function when covered, however, the blades began spinning and completely cut 2 of my daughter's fingers off of one hand and deeply lacerated 1 on the other.
We are in the hospital. Her fingers have been surgically placed back on but this is just the beginning.
We purchased the product brand new about 3 years ago but there is a lifetime warranty. Are manufacturers still responsible if the store warranty expires? What type if attorney should I seek because I plan to sue? Are these cases lengthy? My daughter is 13.
Thx
Edit: I began googling what attorney would consider this case and sent a few emails for consultations. All of the attorneys responded, all said they'd take the case after I explained what occurred! Each attorney said there should have been a kill switch or safety switch to prevent the blades from rotating. Now, I have to decide which attorney to choose. If it's worth anything, I'll keep you posted on this thread as time goes on.
Thx
