Fl-recorded At Work By Another Employee

Card image cap

My friend is a manager and asked me to get opinions on what is his next best step to take, if any regarding this situation that happened at work. Earlier today my friend was having a conversation with 3 other managers in his office about an issue that occurred concerning an office order mix-up. Apparently, an employee listened in and recorded their conversation (for what reason he has no idea as the conversation was only about how to fix the error) In any case, this employee then sent the recording to one of the higher ups in the company. We live in FL (which is a 2 party consent state) and while nothing untoward happened during the conversation, I feel he should report this employee to HR for recording other employees conversations. The issue is, my friend is hesitant to say anything because then the person that told him about the recording being made and sent, who is someone that wasn’t involved in the conversation at all but saw the email about the recording that was sent to the higher up, will then be outed. I apologize if this is confusing and will be happy to clarify anything that needs to be. But legal minds of Reddit, what would your advice be to him? Thank you for any help!
