Found My Stolen Bike, Just Took It
Hi folks, to run the full story short. I came back to college after winter break and when I looked for my bike (bicycle) to get to class it turned up missing.
I suspected it was cut off the chain as my apartment agency usually did stuff like that on bikes they marked decrepit (rusty or very dirty.
My apartment agency never got back to me about it, but today while I was walking to class I found my bike, with a chain that was very clearly cut, locked outside the class building I usually have classes at.
After my class ended I went back outside and it was still there, so I took it home with me. The bikes manufacturing number stamped on the bottom bracket matches the one from my purchase order, but I took it from campus and I'm worried that I could get in trouble for it. The other thing was I hadn't called the police about it since my apartment indicated I shouldn't until they confirm it wasn't by them (because technically I could sue them for not telling me that they're getting rid of bikes)
What should I do? Because I have my bike back... And I called the campus police and they said I should be fine
