Friend’s Husband Seeing Prostitutes.

My friend found a whole paper trail of her husband’s infidelity with sex workers. They live in Massachusetts and he found them on websites. She found texts on his phone while she was looking for a past text with their babysitter, so he knew she had his phone. There were text with 3 different women over 4 months that included the whole planning to meet, locations, prices, how to pay, pictures etc. She then found corresponding payments on his cash app. She saved all of this and sent it to herself so that she has the information.

She confronted him and told him she wants a divorce. He said that he backed out of having sex with all 3 of them but paid them ($900 each) for their troubles.

He then told her if she divorces him then he will say she’s been cheating on him for years with her close friend from high school, even though he’s gay.

I feel terrible because she is scared that he will be able to convince people that she had an affair and that he didn’t.

Do you have any advice I can share? Prostitution is illegal but I’m assuming she can’t threaten him back with going to the police since the police probably won’t do anything?
