Gas Station Employee Used My Id To Cash A Lottery Ticket
So, I just went to a local gas station to buy a beverage and smokeless tobacco. Since I was buying a nicotine product, I had to produce identification. The employee then scans the ID to verify its authenticity.
So, after the transaction is completed, we chat for a second and I notice that he hasn't given me back my ID yet. He then proceeds to scan my ID again, and I look at the screen to see that he had just used it to cash a $75 lottery ticket.
So, I ask him what was up with this and he says that he just bought it, but since he works at the store he isn't able to cash it using his own ID. I feel extremely violated right now and very uncomfortable about the entire situation. Im worried that he just used my identification to do something unlawful.
What is my recourse here? Am I potentially on the hook for something here? Should I call the police and report this? Any advice would be extremely appreciated.
