Harassed And Threatened By Neighbor When I Was Stuck On Road

I (M25) was coming home from my job in my work truck and I had a couple of drivers behind me. The road was icy so I let the drivers in back of me pass me. I got stuck in the snow so I called my mom who lives close by for help. Unable to get the car unstuck, I call a tow truck to come and help me out.

Afterwards my neighbor, let’s call him Mr A, came by in a gator that he or his friend(s) owned. They offered to help, we politely declined because we had a tow truck on the way. He said if we “Wanted to get our ass beat, you fucking liberal?” We also shrugged it off not wanting to stir the pot. Then his friend or friends proceeded to do doughnuts on the icy road near us. We shrugged it off and we’re hoping they’d leave. they started getting closer and closer, nearly hitting Mr A and my truck in the process. They sprayed dirt and snow on me and my mom, and at that point we were frustrated and said “Hey can you stop??”

After that, Mr A proceeded to threaten me and my mom, saying he was going to assault me. He was saying things like “Oh you’re afraid to get your ass beat” and “You’re definitely going to get your ass beat”. He asked what we were going to do about it, trying to antagonize us. It was dark and it was only my mom and I and I believe there was two other guys in addition to him. There was at least one other guy who was driving the gator but I didn’t see his face. My mom who was angered wanted to confront him, but I held her back. There was no contact involved whatsoever. The only contact was the dirt and snow they blew in our faces.

He said for me to let my mom go so he can get her on assault charges. Again, there was no contact involved. I held my mom and got her back to the car and told her to drive home. I called 911 and they weren’t able to do anything because we got back without being physically harmed. I told my other neighbor what had happened.

The tow truck finally came and picked me up so we could get my work vehicle. The neighbor and his friends were gone at that point. I took pictures of the dirt they sprayed on my truck, the doughnuts in the dirt and snow, and the broken tail light I have from debris they shot from doing doughnuts.

We are very scared right now. I’m filing a complaint with my town’s police in the morning. We are getting security cameras to put on the house and some signs to warn trespassers. While this occurred on a road a mile from my house, we are fearing there might be some further harassment or retaliation. Any advice would be helpful on what I should give police or how I should proceed. Thank you.

TLDR: Neighbor threatened to assault me and my mom when I was stuck on the road and HE engaged in reckless driving with a gator that damaged my work vehical’s tail light.

Edit: Further background needed. This man is an ex con, and while I get people can still live normal and productive lives as an ex con, he is not. He is a bully and thinks he owns the neighborhood and people are sick of it. We’ve had issues with him in the past but it has never gotten to this point. We haven’t even spoken with him for more than a minute at any given time, just trying to stay as far away from him as possible.
