Hit By Truck Walking Into A Gas Station

Card image cap

Hello, I am from California. I was staying at a hotel with my girlfriend and we got thirsty so we decided to walk towards to gas station down the street. We made our way to the gas station using the side walk with our newly adopted dog. When we got to the gas station we were walking towards the door when a truck backed out of the disabled parking spot close to the air pump and drove forward running over my girlfriend’s leg and almost running me over as well. I banged on the drivers window to get them to stop. The driver that got out of the vehicle was a tall white male in his 30s and he was clearly intoxicated barely being able to open his eyes. He started to offer us money but I was more concerned about my girlfriend. I was shocked about what had just happened so I was going to call the police. Since I didn’t accept the drivers cash he started to threaten to bury me and my girlfriend. He then got in the vehicle and sped off into the night. I managed to get a picture of their license plate. I called the police and got medical attention for my girlfriend. I reported the whole thing to the police and they worked with the gas station to get the footage. They let me know to go get a report and wait for a response because we decided to press charges. We haven’t got the report printed and we haven’t heard anything from the police department. We are going to go get the report this week but just wanted to put this out there to see if any additional information could be learnt. This happened in October of 2024.

My girlfriend is fine now her leg has healed. Thanks.
