How Do I Collect On A Judgement?

Card image cap

When I left the military I rented my home in Nevada. The tenants were California residents and stopped paying the rent shortly after they moved in. I was eventually awarded a settlement in small claims court against them. Now I live in Pennsylvania. I have the bank account information of one of the named parties in the lawsuit. The bank is in California. From what I’ve read so far, I can have a sheriff serve the bank with a Writ of Execution to collect whatever money is in that account, if any. However, I’m a bit lost when it comes to filling out the required forms. There’s a California specific form EJ-130, but it looks like that’s for judgements in California as it requires information from the CA court that granted the judgement.

How do I go about collecting the money owed?
