How Screwed Is My Boyfriend?

So my boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic and two months ago he went to work hungover and was still drunk from the night before. His job tested him and basically told him he need to go to rehab and stop in order to keep his job. So we’ve been going to therapy and he has been completely sober and is doing great! Well today at work he was driving the work truck and he always drive safe and slow (because he has epilepsy from ahead injury when young) which makes a lot of angry drivers mad. And some lady in a truck got pissed and was cutting in front of him and purposely messing with him. My boyfriend kept his cool until she hit his truck!! Then as she is driving she started driving next to him and took out her phone and started recording him while still messing with his car. Then my boyfriend pulled over to get her license plate since she hit him and instead she took off. And yes basically she was distracted driving because she had her phone in her hands looking at my boyfriend while driving. Also the fact that she just did a hit and run.

Well she ended up calling my boyfriend’s company and told them my boyfriend hit her car and wants them to pay for it. Now my boyfriend has to write in a statement and he can’t drive a work truck until it’s resolved. But now we are both worried he’s going to lose his job because of this event right after the hangover event two months ago. I’m mad that my boyfriend has been focusing on being a good person and now this lady tried to basically get him fired when it was her fault.

What is our best option here to deal with this situation. He is a part of a union.
